How it works
- Choose your .clip file or drag it onto the page. It is read directly in your browser.
- Look around. Zoom in to full resolution, and show or hide any layer or folder in the layer list.
- Save it as a flattened PNG, JPG or WebP, as a layered PSD for Photoshop, Krita, GIMP or Photopea, or as separate PNG files — one per layer.
What is a .clip file?
A .clip file is the native project format of Clip Studio Paint (also known as Manga Studio), the drawing and comic software by CELSYS. It keeps everything an artist needs to keep working: every raster, vector and text layer, folders, blending modes, layer masks, correction layers, screentones, rulers and, for animations, the timeline.
That makes .clip files great for the artist, but awkward for everyone else. Other programs can't read them, so clients, editors, friends and teachers who receive one usually just see an unknown file. ClipPeak solves that: it understands the format and shows the artwork the way Clip Studio Paint does.
Accurate, not just a thumbnail
Many "online viewers" only show the small preview picture stored inside the file. ClipPeak instead rebuilds the image at full resolution from the layers themselves, using the same compositing rules as Clip Studio Paint. We test it against Clip Studio Paint's own output, pixel by pixel.
| Feature in the .clip file | How ClipPeak handles it |
|---|---|
| Raster layers, folders, opacity | Exact — drawn from the pixels saved in the file |
| All 28 blending modes (Multiply, Overlay, Add (Glow), Glow dodge, Divide, Hue…), "Through" folders | Exact |
| Layer masks, "Clip to layer below", reference/draft layers, paper layer | Exact |
| Image material layers (pasted photos), including scaled, rotated and tiled images | Exact |
| Gray and monochrome expression color | Exact |
| Correction layers: Levels, Tone curve, Brightness/Contrast, Hue/Saturation/Luminosity, Color balance, Posterization, Threshold, Reverse gradient, Gradient map | Very close — calibrated against Clip Studio Paint output |
| Gradient and fill layers, screentone (tone) effect, border effect | Very close — re-created from their settings |
| Vector layers | Close — strokes are redrawn; special brush textures are simplified |
| Text layers | Approximate — redrawn with the fonts installed on your device |
| 3D layers, animation timelines | Shown through the full image saved in the file |
Whenever a file contains layers that have to be re-created, ClipPeak tells you, marks them with ≈ in the layer list, and — if the file contains Clip Studio Paint's own full-size image — shows that exact image until you start switching layers on and off.
Private by design
Artwork is personal and often under contract. ClipPeak never uploads your file: the converter runs locally in your browser, in a background worker. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded and it keeps working.
